Bought this on Amazon for about $160 which is much less than the $300 I paid for a much lower capacity pump, which I use normally on my waterfall. I bought this one for the extra boost whenever company comes over, or I just want to mix things up a bit. Had I purchased this pump first, I doubt that I would even have the other pump. It seems very well constructed, and has the ability to connect 2 different discharges if you choose. I wasn't aware of that when I purchased it or I might incorporated it into the original plumbing for a possible drain or some other useful purpose. My vertical lift is about 12 feet and the run to the top about 50 feet and this pump handles it with no problem. I feed it into 2 2000gph rated plenums and it nearly takes them into full capacity. Very pleased with this pump.

My wife was ready to bash me over the head with this until we had a torrential downpour and the basement flooded. She was able in short order to set this pump up, attach a hose and clear the basement. We use this now to aerate our 1.5 acre pond and it works very well. I highly recommend this product.

I've had this pump on a shelf for years waiting to upgrade a smaller pump. Have a smaller version (Model Number PMO-650) of this pump for a pond. The design does not allow for filtering the water going into the pump. In a pond setting, this pretty much makes the pump useless as ponds have debris which will easily kill this damn pump. The documentation included in the package was virtually non-existent in terms of using it in a pond and virtually no documentation on maintaining it as well. So basically, unless someone can explain how to filter the water flowing into the pump it's worthless in my mind. The mix and match situation with pumps, filters, tubing, and fountains drives people away from being more popular. Sell me one package which marries a pump, fountain, and filter for various sized ponds and they would sell better.
