Nothing But Hy-Drive From Now On!, June 30, 2010 This review is from: Danner 02680 HY Drive 3,200 GPH Pump (Lawn & Patio) The sealed mag-drive construction of this pump is the only way to go. After having one Little Giant leak oil into one pond and another Little Giant leak water into the motor housing and electrify the water, I'll never use anything but mag-drive.
I've had a number of ponds over the past 20 years, and currently have four, so I've had quite a few pumps. Although I've used the Pondmaster pumps for years, The Hy-Drive units, in particular, seem to be rock-solid, commercial grade pumps. I've never had problems with the Pondmaster / Danner pumps, until recently. When one of my Hy-Drive 3200's developed a thermal-cycling issue, I found Danner / Pondmaster easy to reach, pleasant to work with, responsive, and I received a replacement just a few days after returning the old one - important when your fish's health is at stake. While they may cost a few dollars more than a cheap, no-name overseas brand, they are well worth the money. I'll never use anything else!

I am using it for a waterfall on my koi pond. It also is connected to a biofilter. I have had no problems over several months of use and it runs 24/7.
