(New York, NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Beckett 7040210 Pond Filter (Lawn & Patio) Not only did this product arrive quickly, but it was more useful and worked far more efficiently than I expected! It maybe have even been too powerful for our little kidney-shaped 4 x 2 x 3 pond. The bio-balls inside the device are odd, but they seem to work well and filtered out the over-winter algae quickly. Plus, we used the diverter to recirculate the water in the pond while also using the spout-like extension for a pretty effect. My Koi are swimming about happily - more so than with another higher-priced filter we purchased a few years ago.

Seller fine, product had issues, November 2, 2010 By This review is from: Beckett 7040210 Pond Filter (Lawn & Patio) First, the seller, OK Sales did a fine job. They packaged and shipped as you would wish. The pump, however has issues. This came with a nice filter box and generous filter pads. This is ideal for my pond, under the live oak tree. The pump, while listed as 210 gallons, was very small in size and was not a very strong push. It went at one speed then drastically dropped pressure to a dribble. I contacted the Beckett company. They were VERY nice and agreed to ship another pump for a $5 fee. OK, I'll go along with that. I haven't received the new one yet as I just completed the transaction with Beckett. If I had it to do over, I'd go with another Pondmaster brand.

The new version has been in service a few weeks now, and initial impressions are that it isn't as good as the old one. The fine screen that's now imbedded in the cover seems to clog very quickly, and it's continually tipping over. A more square shape would be much more stable, although this has the same profile as the old one, which hardly ever tipped.
